This openwork hat has the right amount of warmth if you’re in cooler climates and the right amount of cool for hanging with your peeps. The asymmetrical shells are worked in the round in a rainbow of colors for a fun effect. Try working it in a single color for a more sophisticated look.

Finished Size: 21″ circumference to fit average woman’s head.
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease (50% cotton, 50% acrylic; 207 yd [108 m]/3 ½ oz [100 g]; ): #194 lime (A), #100 snow (B), #186 maize (C), #148 turquoise (D), #134 terracotta (E), and #195 azalea (F), 1 ball each. Note: To make hat in 1 color, use 1 ball of any color.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: First 2 rnds measure 3 ¼” in diameter.
Hook: Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
