Tailored ribs and bias shaping make a clean-cut camisole.

Description

The bias-knit front panels on this tailored corset are similar to a 1950s bathing suit. The top’s sleek fit, simple ribs, and discreet rows of eyelets that curve over the bodice give it clean, uncluttered lines. Two-by-two ribbing shapes the back and allows it to cling smoothly without pulling tight. The corset is worked in a smooth and soft-to-the-skin merino while a coordinating silk yarn is used to trim the top edge and make the I-cord spaghetti straps.

Finished Size: 29 ½ (31 ¾, 33, 34 ½, 38, 39 ½, 43 ¾, 48)” bust circumference in B-cup version. For A, C, and D cups, corset circumference will be ¼” smaller or larger for each size down or up from B. Corset shown in the 4th size with A cup measures 34 ¼”. Note: This project is designed with only 1″ of wearing ease for a close fit.
Yarn: Filatura di Crosa Zarina (100% merino; 181 yd [165 m]/50 g): #1462 light blue (A), 3 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6) balls. Filatura di Crosa Luxury (100% silk; 160 yd [146 m]/50 g): #2 light blue (B), 1 ball for all sizes. Yarns distributed by Tahki Stacy Charles.
Yarn weight: #2 – Fine
Gauge: 28 sts and 36 rows = 4″ in St st on larger needle; 32 sts and 36 rows = 4″ in k2, p2 rib, slightly stretched, on larger needle.
Needles: Sizes 3 (3.25 mm) and 4 (3.5 mm): 24″ circulars (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle; sharp-point sewing needle and matching thread.
