Explore crochet colorwork and stranding with this Fair Isle-style crochet hat, worked from the top down and culminating in a rich interplay of color at the border.

Finished Size: 17 ¾ (20 ¼, 22 ¾)” head circumference.
Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease (80% acrylic, 20% wool; 197 yd [180 m]/3 oz [85 g]): #121 caramel (MC), #123 seaspray (CC1), #171 gold (CC2), #167 eggplant (CC3), 1 ball each.
Yarn Weight: #3 – Light
Needles: Metal hook size E/4 (3.5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: St marker (m); yarn needle.
Gauge: 28 sts and 25 rows = 4″ in tapestry patt.
