Description

Hexagons, pentagons, and triangles, oh my! The seamless Avery Shawl uses picked-up stitches to create an alluring Norah Gaughan signature-style fabric. The shawl is mostly stockinette stitch, but a few key diagonal lines are knitted into each piece to form stars. Once the shawl is complete, steam- or wet-block it well to make the stars shine.

YARN Plymouth Yarn Cammello Merino (80% extrafine merino wool, 20% baby camel; 180 yd [165 m]/1 3/4 oz [50 g]): #0021 grey, 4 balls.
NEEDLES Size 3 (3.25 mm): two sets of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS Marker (m); tapestry needle.
GAUGE 26 sts and 42 rnds = 4" in St st.
