After a marathon of watching Masterpiece Theatre’s “Jane Austen Classics,” designer Robyn Chachula was determined to create something lovely and romantic that would make Ms. Austen proud. Finished with perfect pearl buttons, worked in luxurious royal alpaca yarn, this lacy but sensible muffler will add a touch of drama to any outfit this season.

Finished Size: 13 (14, 15, 16 ½, 18)” neck circumference. Muffler shown measures 14″.
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Royal (100% royal alpaca, 288 yd [263 m]/31?2 oz [100 g]; ): #702 Spanish leather (A); #706 petticoat (B), 1 hank each.
Yarn weight: #2 – Fine
Gauge: 21 sts and 27 rows = 4″ in sc blo.
Hook: Size F/5 (3.75 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle; 3 straight pins; three 3/8″ diameter pearl buttons.
