Description

Two weights of a singles merino play against each other in a fitted cardigan with a flowy, attached scarf.

Finished Size: 30 ½ (35, 38 ½, 42 ½, 47)” bust circumference, buttoned. Cardigan shown measures 30 ½”, modeled with 1” of negative ease.
Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted (100% merino wool; 210 yd [192 m]/3 ½ oz [100 g]): #72 apricot (A), 4 (5, 6, 6, 7) skeins. Malabrigo Lace (100% baby merino wool; 470 yd [430 m]/1 ¾ oz [50 g]): #72 apricot (B), 1 skein.
Needles: Sizes 7 (4.5 mm) and 8 (5 mm): 32” or 40” circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Marker (m); waste yarn for provisional CO; stitch holders; tapestry needle; five ¾” buttons.
Gauge: 17 sts and 25 rows = 4” in St st with A on larger needle; 21 sts and 38 rows = 4” in garter st with B on smaller needle.
