Description
Worked from the toe up with a short-row heel, these socks have a surprise: a gusset is added to the sock for a better fit in the heel. Asymmetrical cables and ribbing keep you on your toes.
Finished Size: About 6 (6½, 7)” (15 [16.5, 18] cm) foot circumference; foot and leg lengths are adjustable. To fit woman’s U.S. shoe size 6½ (7½, 9). Socks shown measure 6½” (16.5 cm) foot circumference and fit a U.S. woman’s shoe size 7½.
Yarn: Fingering weight (Super Fine #1). Shown here: Fleece Artist BFL Socks (80% superwash Bluefaced Leicester, 20% nylon; 355 yd [325 m]/115 g); wine, 1 skein.
Yarn Weight: #1 – Super Fine
Needles: U.S. size 1½ (2.5 mm): set of 5 double-pointed (dpn), 2 short circular (cir), or 1 long cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Waste yarn in similar weight and contrasting color for provisional CO; markers (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle; U.S. size D/3 (3.25 mm) or U.S. size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook.
Gauge: 32 sts and 44 rnds = 4″ (10 cm) in St st in the rnd; 44 sts and 44 rnds = 4″ (10 cm) in cable patt in the rnd.
