A blanket made in five pieces for generations of comfort.

Description

This blanket is so soft, so generously sized, so beautiful that it will make anyone cuddled within it feel special, not to mention warm and comfortable. It requires a lot of knitting and a lot of yarn, but because it is made in five separate strips, rather than in one big piece, it is a surprisingly manageable project-even one that can be worked on while traveling, one strip at a time.

Finished Size: About 64″ (162.5 cm) wide and 68″ (173 cm) long.
Yarn: Classic Elite Waterpsun (100% felted Merino; 138 yd [123 m]/50 g): #5035 chartreuse, 64 skeins (used double). See introduction if you want to make a smaller blanket.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 15 sts and 21 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in St st on larger needles.
Needles: Panels-Size 10 ½ (6.5 mm): straight. Edging-Size 10 (6 mm): 32″ (80-cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
