Description

The pendant is centered-so is the clasp-but still this necklace is asymmetrical. Can you see why? On one side I used a pewter connector between garnet and citrine beads to break up the expanse of apetite beads, and on the other side I used garnet, citrine, and silver beads. Still, the necklace is pleasantly balanced.

This is why it works: The connector is dark in value and dull in color. To balance it on the other side of the necklace, I used several beads that are lighter in value and more vibrant in color; the quantity and brightness of the beads on one side makes up for the size of the metal piece on the other side.

Required Materials: Seed beads, fire-polished beads, rondelles, flower pendant, link, bud charm, crimp tubes, beading wire. See project for complete list.

Tools Needed: Wire cutters, crimping pliers

Techniques Used: Stringing; crimping

Finished Size: 19″ (48.5 cm)
