In the text, it is written that the motif have 45 sts, but in the graphic, it looks like 37 sts. Maybe there is an error.

I don’t see any corrections anywhere, but the pattern is surrounded by knit stitches. If you look for example at the smallest size, you cast on 190, then k25, pattern, k25, k25, pattern, k25 – so the pattern is 45 stitches. Therefore, you can add 4 knit stitches at each side of the chart (4 + 37 + 4 = 45).
