Interweave Escapes: All New Knitting Clinic

Let the Interweave Knits Winter 2024 issue transport you to a winter wonderland of cozy knits! This remarkable edition features 14 extraordinary projects to immerse yourself in the uniqueness of specially crafted yarns.

Meeting makers and crafters from the many communities Interweave serves happens to be one of the perks of my job. Interweave Yarn Fest gives me that opportunity close to home each spring in Loveland, Colorado. However, when I was asked to attend an Interweave Escapes at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont, this past June, I jumped at the chance!

Game for an adventure and to cross a state off of my list, I psyched myself up for the trip by watching (alright, yodeling along to) The Sound of Music (affiliate link). I packed the necessities, grabbed a few knitting and spinning projects, and hit the road with visions of Julie Andrews and Christopher Plumber dancing with knitting needles (affiliate link) in my head. The moment I stepped out of the airport, I was smitten! Vermont captured my heart with its vivid green mountains and fragrant lilacs. Indulging in a long weekend of knitting classes taught by Laura Nelkin and Beth Brown-Reinsel, consuming delicious food and beer, and visiting with knitters from around the country didn’t feel like work at all.

This year, I’ve been invited to spend five days and four nights with instructor Lorilee Beltman at Interweave Escapes’ first “Knitting Clinic” in Leavenworth, Washington, at the Sleeping Lady Resort & Spa, April 10–14, 2019. Don’t let that pesky project linger in time-out! Get your knitting back on track with a special retreat designed to help you conquer your most elusive knitting challenges. Bring your burning knitting questions, take in the scenic views, and make some new friends. I plan on bringing my spindle and demonstrating how to spin yarn, too.

Knitting projects may come and go, but experiences stay with us—so true! Join us for this memorable Interweave Escapes knitting retreat against the dramatic backdrop of the Cascade Mountains.
