WELCOME to our second installment of Wool Studio; what a pleasure it has been to continue this fiber journey. After launching the premiere issue of Wool Studio in December 2016, we were overjoyed to see the enthusiastic reception of the issue’s minimalist, modern, and fiber-focused designs. Luckily, we had another collection in the works; this time, we have an all-seasons collection suitable for every climate.
Wool Studio Volume II explores both plant and animal fibers for fabrics that are breathable, versatile, and pleasurable to create. Again, we’ve partnered with several of our favorite companies in the yarn industry to bring you a collection of luxurious garments and accessories for the modern woman. They presented their best fibers, from brand-new yarns to classic favorites, for our talented designers to choose from. Our thanks to Skacel, Universal Yarn, Sugar Bush, Fairmount Fibers (Manos del Uruguay), Mango Moon (Be Sweet), Malabrigo, June Cashmere, Trendsetter Yarns (Lana Grossa), Plymouth Yarn, Imperial Yarn, Kingfisher Yarn & Fibre (Jo Sharp), and Kelbourne Woolens (The Fibre Co.).
This collection of knitwear is nothing short of stellar. We have been overwhelmed by the skill, thoughtfulness, and care that each designer poured into her work, and we’ve been eagerly anticipating the unveiling of these exceptional knits that are destined to become classic Interweave designs. It has been a thrill to work on this collection with Amy Gunderson, Sarah Solomon, Véronik Avery, Norah Gaughan, Kate Gagnon Osborn, Lana Jois, Amanda Bell, Andrea Babb, Susanna IC, Kephren Pritchett, Grace Akhrem, and Amanda Scheuzger. This collection would not be what it is without each of their contributions.
Wool Studio is for those who pause for slow fashion, conscientiously select their fibers, and seek contemporary designs made to outlast ephemeral trends. Flip through our lookbook to find comfort, escape, and elegance worthy of the modern knitter.
Best,
Meghan Babin
