Event Overview
Interweave Escapes, an exclusive knitting retreat, is a unique way for knitters to come together, learn from a knitting expert and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow devotees in this intimate, retreat-style event. This Fall we are escaping to Savannah, Georgia from September 10-13, 2023 with Alexandra Davidoff. We will also be joined by our Sew News Escape. Each community will attend their respective workshop, and then come together for meals and our off-site excursion.
Torn between Southern belle and jezebel, Savannah can’t help herself when it comes to wooing visitors and locals alike. Just steps away from legendary River Street in downtown Savannah’s historic district, The Kimpton Brice Hotel promises to make your Savannah stay a magical one. This escape will be filled with education, inspiration, history, and of course delicious meals and an off-site adventure.

What You’ll Learn & Create
Dragon Lore
This is a project based new class in the series of my Dragon Stitch classes. Based on my latest design Dragon Lore, this class is similar, but not the same to The Art of Knitting 3D Dragon Scales class. We will go into all the intricate details of creating 3D dragon scales, fading techniques specific to this design, blocking and other finishing techniques. I will guide you through the process and will share all my tips and tricks of how to create your own Dragon Lore shawl. The skill level for this workshop is Intermediate, and all students must know how to cast on, knit, purl, yarn over, increase and decrease Stitches. Students will need to bring two 25g skein of DK weight of practice yarn (not linen, cotton, or pure silk), US 3/3.25mm needles, row counter, and stitch markers.

So Rococo!

This is a projects based class and guess what? – by learning the elements of the design of the one ornate pattern repeat, you will be able to knit 3 patterns: Guadalupe River, River Light, Veronique, and Waters! In this class we will go through the elements of the design and finishing techniques for all 3 designs. By making a swatch of the one pattern repeat, we will take a deep dive into the intricate, but easy to learn techniques. From a bobble stitch to a bead application with a steel hook – I will show you how it is done! The skill level for this workshop is Intermediate, but there are no prerequisites. Students will need to bring 20g of practice yarn in fingering weight, 30 Miyuki glass beads (size 6/0), US3 needles (can be dpn), row counter, and 2 stitch markers.
