This fall, we’re coming to you with not one, but two knit-along patterns. The Floating Spiral Hat by designer Owen Biesel has long been a favorite of ours, with its deliberately misaligned and offset cables and impish shape. To complement this cozy cap, our very own Joni Coniglio has designed the Floating Zigzag Scarf just for this knit-along. The free period for the knit-along has ended but you can purchase the Floating Spiral Hat in the Interweave shop. The Floating Zig-Zag Scarf was exclusive to the knit-along free period.

To knit the Floating Spiral Hat, you’ll need 2 balls of Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Aran. The pattern calls for a size 8 needles—both a 16” circular and a set of double-pointed needles. Remember that you may need to adjust your needle size to get gauge.

For the Floating Zigzag Scarf, you’ll need 8 balls of Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Aran. The scarf calls for a size 7 needle.
