What's your favorite color? If green is your preferred shade or your philosophy, check out the exhibit Green, the Color and the Cause, appearing now at the Textile Museum in Washington, D.C. It explores glocal cultural associations of green with fertility, and rebirth, textile artists' expressions about environmental concerns, and efforts to create "green" textiles. Check out the slideshow to see James Koehler's peaceful tapestry Rhythms of Nature, William Knight's Wall Tapestry made of recycled steel and rubber tires, Emily DuBois Fig Leaf of twill woven over stainless steel, and many other green delights.
