Win Spinning Prizes in Spin Off Magazine’s 40th Anniversary Sweepstakes
Imagine yourself winning a prize. Would you rather win something practical that you’ll use every day, or would you prefer something unusual that you’ve never seen before? How about both? In honor of Spin Off Magazine’s 40th anniversary, five of our partners came together to give you presents. The prize packs include a wonderful assortment of fibers and tools to use and enjoy. The only thing nicer than spinning one of these bags of goodies is sharing, so we’re delighted to offer you the chance to win one of eight prize packs in September 2017.
Our friends at Halcyon Yarn clearly had a blast putting together their bag of treats. You’ll find dyed silk cocoons, Maine-raised alpaca fiber, and several types of wool in their generous prize package—some to enjoy sampling and some to spin into a luscious project.
RH Lindsay has helped companies and customers find just the right wool for over 80 years, and the dehaired white Churro included in the anniversary prize is a special find. With the guard hairs removed, the soft, creamy undercoat remains.
Kromski is known for their suite of spinning wheels, but they offer other helpful tools, including handy hand carders (perfect for transforming that dehaired Churro into lofty rolags). With a pair of 72 teeth-per-inch hand carders, you can process a wide range of medium wools.
The Woolery chose some delightful fiber from their store of fiber treasures. They have contributed luxurious braids of soft Bombyx/Merino top dyed by Chasing Rainbow Dyeworks. Between the rich color and delightful hand, this is fiber to savor. (We couldn’t decide on our favorite of the assorted colors, so let us choose one for you.)
They say that the best things come in small packages, and Treenway Silks has filled a handmade paper box with a pair of gems: two colorways of special handdyed Bombyx silk/Suri alpaca pencil roving in ruby-red shades.
Thanks to our generous sponsors!
