Southwest Regional Spinners hone skills at Convergence, Albuquerque

The Southwest Regional Spinners (New Mexico) held its annual retreat shortly after the Handweavers Guild of America's biennial conference, Convergence, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Participants could attend economy-style by camping in the mountains or choose the deluxe, all-inclusive package for classes, fees, lodging, and meals. The challenge for Convergence 2010 was footwear, and judging was also available for spinners working toward a COE (Certificate of Excellence) in handspinning. Participants were able to learn more about the certification process and how to improve their own yarns.
