Sacramento area weavers and spinners explore "Tradition and Innovation"

The spinners of the Sacramento Weavers' and Spinners' Guild (California) exhibited their own fiber/scarf exchange project at an open house in February with the theme "Tradition and Innovation." The weavers showcased their study of garments and accessories in handwoven items. This event was an opportunity to meet other members and see the potential skills one can learn as a member. Members demonstrated fiber preparation, spinning a variety of materials, raising silkworms, dyeing skeins, weaving useful baskets, and designing loom projects to showcase both the crafts and the talents available in the guild. A hands-on area was designed for children to experience activities. A sales area featured members' work, and a drawing for donated items also took place.
