Peachtree Handspinners Guild: Morning Sessions Teach New Skills
Members of the Peachtree Handspinners Guild have added a new facet to their gatherings for 2012. Several times throughout the year, they hold a Morning Session before the monthly meeting that aims to build the spinning skills of newcomers and novice spinners. Paula Vester believes that "these sessions should be a great chance to share knowledge [and] to get our beginning spinners experimenting on their own." In February, experienced spinners volunteered to teach a session called Variations on a Draw. They discussed how wheel design, fiber preparation, and draw style affect a finished yarn. Later this year, they will hold Morning Sessions entitled Spinning 101 and Types of Spinning Wheels.
