Michigan's Winter Fleece Fair
Members of the Spinner's Flock, a fiber guild in Chelsea, Michigan, have been hosting fleece fairs for over thirty years. This Saturday, the Winter Fleece Fair and Sale will draw spinners, knitters, weavers, and more from around region. The guild is lucky to have many members who raise fiber animals, so if you are looking for sources of Michigan fibers and handspun yarns, you are in luck! The event is held at Beach Middle School and includes demonstrations, equipment sales, and everything from raw fleeces to finished textiles. Sounds like a great way to spend a cold winter day! See pictures from past events on the guild website.
The Spinner's Flock was founded by a small group of Michigan fiber producers and fiber artists in 1980. Today, they have a large membership that hosts the Winter Fleece Fair in February and the Holiday Handspinner's Fair after Thanksgiving.
