Lorain County Spinners and Weavers tip

Member Katy Farr of the Lorain County Spinners and Weavers (Ohio) uses spring-loaded eyeglass cases that snap shut to store small tools for projects. She can fit a pair of scissors, stitch markers, two sizes of yarn needles, a small-gauge crochet hook, and a safety pin into just one of them. Zippered plastic bags used to package curtains are saved for storage of individual projects. The yarn, notions, and original pattern of a work in progress are placed inside with a piece of cedar wood to keep moths at bay. A photocopy of the pattern in a vinyl sheet protector is added for reference while working on it. Projects stack neatly, can be easily identified, and are ready to pull out to work on at home or tote to a guild meeting.
