Get your fiber fix at The New England Fiber Arts Retreat

In the 2010 Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival catalog, an ad picturing a sheep doctor claimed serious consequences for those whose "test results show their body is lacking a daily dose of fiber." The suggested prescription was to "relax, enjoy the company of fellow fiber arts enthusiasts, and do what you love to do in beautiful mid-coast Maine" by attending the New England Fiber Arts Retreat. A disclaimer appeared with the ad stating attendance may "result in increased fiber enthusiasm and a heightened desire to knit, spin, felt, dye, and weave. Participants may also experience an enhanced tendency toward visiting local yarn shops, rolling around in luscious fibers, and yearning for more retreat-like atmospheres."
