Foothill Fibers Guild (California) joins the Peace Felt Project
The Foothill Fibers Guild (California) has joined fourteen other countries participating in the Peace Felt Project to connect the world in a circle of unconditional love and gratitude as peace is felt in hearts across continents. The guild is creating a wall hanging from felted wool roving in various colors with doves and flowers made by members to be applied to the surface as part of the design. The guild is anticipating receiving the assignment of its partner in the project to know where the finished piece will be sent. Along with the Carson Sierra Spinners and Weavers (Nevada), some members attended the Second Annual Intermountain Spindle Camp held in May at Lake Francis Resort in Dobbins, near Nevada City. The original idea of only spindle-spinning for three days and nights was expanded to accept knitting and wheel projects so more people could participate in the events which included indoor massages by appointment.
