Festival Twist: spin, knit, and felt in Québec

Interested in spending some time spinning in the beautiful Québec countryside this fall? The much anticipated Festival Twist will be held August 22‒23 in St-Andre-Avellin. Last week, organizer and devoted handspinner, Amélie Blanchard, announced the event's burgeoning workshop schedule. With a wide variety of fiber arts represented and many well-known instructors, there is something for everyone. The two day event also hosts over 125 vendors, textile art exhibits, and activities for kids.

When Amélie learned to spin in 2010, she was disappointed to find that her region didn't have a fiber festival. So, with the support of her community and fellow fiber artist Lexi Boeger, she decided to organize a new event in her small town. Over the last several years, the event has gathered a devoted following and continues to grow and flourish. Read more about Amélie's fiber work on the Spin Artiste website and her lovely herd of cashmere goats here on Spinner's Connection.
