Do You Have Fribby Wool?

The newsletter of the Spindle and Dyepot Guild of Southeastern Wisconsin usually contains a word challenge with a tease to ferret out the meaning of a fiber-related term. The answer is given somewhere in the pages, so a dictionary is not required to find the definition. A matching test was given in the July issue to see how many of the definitions one could remember from over the past year. Terms included twit, britch, fribby wool, knop, aklae, and attenuation. Do you know the meaning of the word kemp? Hint: it's an important characteristic to look for in a wool fleece.
