Annual picnic with friends and fiber: Woodstock Weavers Guild (Illinois)
June usually finds the Woodstock Weavers Guild (Illinois) at an annual picnic concluding the guild season. Members hold a stash reduction sale by swapping odds and ends and finish the afternoon with Challenge Show & Tell. Members enjoy trying new techniques, and the experience level of the group ranges from beginners to weaving professionals. The guild's annual show "allows visitors to experience the pleasures of handwoven cloth," and its meetings are "designed to expand our horizons in fiber arts." Individuals living in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin are invited to join them from September through June on the Square in downtown Woodstock at the Old Courthouse Arts Center.
