A whole lot of spinning for a good cause!

Vincent D’Aguanno owner of Rumpelstiltskin Yarns in Stony Brook, New York, has announced his attempt for a Guinness Book of World Record attempt for longest marathon yarn spinning. The event will be held as part of the annual Walk for Beauty to help raise awareness about the need for annual mammograms. It will be attempted over three days at Rumpelstiltskin Yarns. Start time is September 30 at 10 am and it will hopefully finish October. 2.

For eighteen years in Stony Brook, New York, businesses, community leaders, and Stony Brook University Hospital have come together to form the Walk for Beauty. This year’s Walk will take place on October 2, 2011 in historic Stony Brook Village, New York. Rumpelstiltskin Yarns will be collecting donations to support breast cancer research at Stony Brook University Medical Center and the Stony Brook University Children’s Hospital.

All proceeds go directly to research and to help cancer patients, never to administrative fees. Nothing is deducted for administrative costs. Donations are fully tax deductible.
