Peggy’s Chair and Flamestitch
There’s just something about dollhouses that I find irresistible. Some of my fondest childhood memories revolve around the dollhouse I had; I spent countless hours in that magical world. So you can imagine that the September/October 2009 Miniature issue of PieceWork was a delight for me.
While looking online for dollhouse furniture that would work for our flamestitched-cushion project, I discovered Peggy Taylor’s website. Peggy makes handmade furniture for dollhouses—bingo! I contacted Peggy, and she sent us the perfect miniature wicker chair for our cushion! It gets even better, though. We decided a great idea for a PieceWork kit would be the issue with the instructions for the flamestitch-cushion project (and lots of other fabulous miniature wonders), the 7 colors of silk thread, and Peggy’s chair. Could Peggy make handmade chairs in the quantity we needed? Would Peggy? Peggy did! She somehow managed to create enough handmade miniature wicker chairs for our kits!
