This is by far the closest yarn shop to Yarn Fest Loveland, and they have all kinds of fun notions and accessories in addition to a lovely yarn selection. Give this newly re-opened business some love!

Cowgirl Yarn in Laramie, WY

Cowgirl Yarn in Laramie, WY

The college town of Laramie, Wyoming sits about 80 miles away from the Yarn Fest Loveland venue. Here in the West we call that, “Not so far.” The location is a windswept piece of wild that sits on the edge of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. Winters are long, and not everyone who lands here can bear it. But Cowgirl Yarn owner Lori Kirk makes the most of being remote, and has created a treasure trove for lovers of yarn and craft. Visit their website to get a look into Cowgirl Yarn culture, including Wyoming-made yarns!

Address: 119 East Ivinson Avenue, Laramie, WY
Hours: Mon 10-5, Tues 12-7, Wed + Thurs 11-6, Fri 11-5, Sat 10-5, closed Sun.
Events for Knitters: They offer a variety of classes, and are open later on Tuesdays.

Local tip: if you find yourself in Laramie, a visit to the story-rich, historic Buckhorn Bar is in order, as is settling in for a bite at Altitude Chophouse & Brewery.
