Witty Gems from a Wandering Yarn Maven
There's a new yarn brand in the market and it's coming from a witty, winking, wandering character named Mrs. Crosby. She's a sort of curator, finding yarns and ephemera from makers around the world. She sends me postcards from her travels:
She's full of fun little gems, like these:
But what about the yarns? This past week, at the The National NeedleArts Association May show, I picked up a couple skeins. Shown here are Hat Box, a merino-silk-cashmere sportweight, and Satchel, a superwash merino singles fingering. The yarns are all kettle dyed in a lovely, sophisticated but lively palette. You can find info on all five yarns here.
Mrs. Crosby says she'll be adding new yarns, particularly small-batch limited editions, as she encounters interesting fibers on her travels. She's a fun character to follow and I look forward to seeing her yarns in projects everywhere. Read the whole story and learn more at www.mrscrosbyplays.com. Cheers and happy travels!
