Video: Come to the Knit-Out With Me!

I might become a video nut. I bought a teensy weensy video camera recently, and suddenly, I'm realizing how much fun it is to send video emails to my family and friends, and take little videos of my new kitten…so when I went to the Knit-Out & Crochet 2009 event, sponsored by the Craft Yarn Council, last weekend, I was determined to videotape everything that moved. Knitting designers, famous authors, random knitters-in-the-aisles…no one was safe from my cute little video camera.
It was a blast. I got to interview Edie Eckman, designer of the gorgeous Santa Fe Shawl that appeared on the Summer 2008 cover of Interweave Crochet. I got to interview Debbie Macomber, the author of the Shop on Blossom Street books, and, yes, I did get to do some knitters-in-the-aisles tapings.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then perhaps a video is worth a thousand pictures? Click on the picture below to get a peek for yourself at some of the happenings at last weekend's Knit-Out & Crochet 2009!

Enjoy!

Do you knit for charity? Need a little inspiration for your next afghan square or chemo cap? Knitting for charity can be deeply rewarding; throw in some interesting cables, a great lace pattern, and those simple afghan squares can become a knitting adventure! 101 Stitches to Knit is a boxed set of cards, each with a different stitch pattern clearly illustrated and explained. I love these cards, because you don't have to lug a big book around with you–you can just choose an interesting stitch, pop the card into your knitting bag, and your charity knitting is ready whenever and wherever you have a few minutes to work on it.
