Trendy Tank Knitting Patterns for Summer Fun
Summer has officially graced us with its presence, whether we were ready for the heat or not. If you are like me, then your closet is full of tee shirts and sweaters, with a few tank tops in between for lounging. I am quickly adding tank projects to my queue, as my summer wardrobe is lacking. There are so many projects that I have in mind, but these five are the tank knitting patterns I am most excited to add to my collection!

Each of these patterns features some kind of elevated detail that takes them beyond the norm. They’ll soon become staples in your summer wardrobe!

Gathered Lace Blouse
When I think of classic shapes in fashion, I am brought back to the 1940s and 1950s era. The silhouettes of clothing can still be found in today’s clothing industry. The Gathered Lace Blouse, designed by Adrienne Larson, is inspired by women’s fashion in the fifties. The shoulders are gathered, and the waist is cinched in, giving the tank a flattering shape. The blouse also has lace detail throughout the peplum panel that adds an airy and feminine feel.

Oud Tank
One thing to know about me is that I cannot resist a good peter-pan collar. I have a collection of vintage collars ready to add to any sweater or tee shirt when I need a little something extra. The Oud Tank, made by Sarah Hurwitz, caught my eye with its lace detailing. The top gives a nod to the 1960s with its mod feel. Lace panels and a lace collar pop off the neutral tank.

Rosyln Tank
When I think of summer closets, lacy tops are a necessity. The Rosyln Tank, created by Sachiko Burgin, is not your ordinary tank top. The lace pattern is simple, making it a quick knit, and the ruffle details on the straps add a fun and flirty look. An elastic band secures the straps in place, so they’ll stay put.

Hanky Tank
While I love pieces with a lot of personality, sometimes I prefer something simple, yet still eye-catching. The Hanky Tank, by Joan Forgione, is a simple design with an eyelet pattern throughout. The tank’s bottom hem has a unique shape and the angled eyelet columns draw your eyes to the hem and center back. The tank is made with a linen and cotton blend, making it the perfect material for hot days.

Robie Tank
Versatility is something that is essential to my wardrobe. I love a piece that I can wear with anything, and it still looks cute. I also love combining different aesthetics like feminine and edgy elements. The Robie Tank, designed by Corrina Ferguson, is a fitted top that features a plaid design. The tank is knit with variegated yarn that allows for a stand-out piece. Lace detailing on the bottom hem and delicate picot add a feminine touch to the edgy top.
These patterns are only a few of the dozens I have selected to add to my collection. Preparing ourselves for the hot days to come is only natural, plus it’s the perfect excuse to use that yarn we’ve been stashing for months.
