The Best of a Decade
It's hard to pick favorites when you're looking back on a decade of Interweave Knits, but I managed it. I think the most challenging part of choosing my top designs was narrowing it down to just one from each year. I decided to stick to sweaters because they're my favorite things to knit, and all but one of these has been on my list for a long time. The exception is Salt Peanuts, which I finally knit for my mom last year.
Here are my top 10 picks, in all their glory:
|Nordic Floral Cardigan, Solveig Hisdal, Spring 2000||Keyhole Stripes, Leigh Radford, Winter 2001||Swooping Eyelet Pullover, Linda Karabinech, Spring 2002|
|Stop-Traffic Circles, Kristin Nicholas, Winter 2003||Salt Peanuts, Veronik Avery, Spring 2004||Pearl Buck Swing Coat, Kate Gilbert, Winter 2005|
|Venezia Pullover, Eunny Jang, Winter 2006||Tilted Duster, Norah Gaughan, Fall 2007||Flutter Sleeve Cardigan, Pam Allen, Fall 2008|
|Farmer's Market Cardigan, Connie Chang Chinchio, F09|
It's a quite a group, isn't it?
Awhile ago I wrote a newsletter reminding you to look through your magazine back issues when you need inspiration. When I looked through my back issues to compile this list, I ignited my knitting inspiration and now I can't wait to start something from this group. (I think I have a pretty good pool to choose from for the next knit-along, don't you?)
I'm willing to bet that not many of you have the entire decade of Interweave Knits; I know I didn't. Now's your change to get almost $400.00 worth of Knits for a quarter of the price! Check out the Interweave Knits 2000–2009 Collection CD—it's worth it, I promise.
