A Sneak Peek: Knitted Cables and More for Fall!

In the height of summer, when the humidity is thick, the days are hot, and air-conditioned buildings feel like ice prisons, I start longing for crisp autumn days and wooly knitting. It’s a clever tactic on the part of publishers that fall knitting publications hit newsstands right around the time that I’ve had enough of summer. For years, I’ve parked myself in front of a fan with a cool drink to flip through the newest issue of Interweave Knits Fall in anticipation of my favorite season: sweater weather.

I’m an impatient person, and fall knitting can’t come soon enough for me. Since I’m now the editor of the very publication I used to wait for with bated breath, I’m going to give you all what I would have loved to have: a sneak peek of what’s to come in Interweave Knits Fall 2018.

These are some smart cables, and I mean that with every pun intended. This issue of Interweave Knits was inspired by New England—specifically, the collegiate setting of Harvard University and the preppy but casual Cape Cod.

In this issue, you’ll find basic and complex cables, traditional and modern silhouettes, women’s wear and menswear, garments and accessories. Let’s take a little peek at a few of the upcoming projects in Interweave Knits Fall 2018 to get you ready for fall knitting.

But here’s the catch: I’m not going to tell you the name of the design or the designer. You’ll have to wait until the issue premiers for that. But you won’t have to wait too much longer!

Does that look like some sweet fall knitting, or what? In the meantime, take a look at the knitted cable projects from past issues of Interweave Knits Fall until the new issue hits newsstands in August. And it won’t hurt at all to take a gander at our current fall edition of knitscene, released just last week.
