Reeling back the years

1940s-Inspired Headband

Everything old is new again, or so the saying goes. Vintage style is clearly “in,” and that’s okay with me, because I love the look. What’s really cool is adding a vintage element to your current wardrobe.

There are lots of vintage knitting items to choose from, and today I’m choosing the 1940s Inspired Headband. It’s so cute, and so quick to knit! This project is a nod to the glamorous turban-style hats of the 1940s. The hats of that era were truly fabulous.

If you’re new to knitting, this project is the one of the cutest beginner knitting patterns I’ve seen.

We love it so much, we built a week-long class around it, Learn to Knit: Knit a Headband!

The class starts on October 29 and runs through November 5. This is perfect for beginning knitters.

You’ll get instruction on increasing and decreasing, moss stitch pattern, and casting on and binding off.

We call these week-long classes Power Sessions because you learn so much in a small amount of time.  You’ll have the opportunity to watch an instructional video and ask questions and get answers from the instructor. You can upload images of works in progress asking for help, or just to get some feedback! You’ll also be able to discuss the topic with your peers and the instructor.

After the Power Session ends, you’ll have access to the course materials indefinitely.

This headband is a cute style for anyone, really. If you have a short bob, you can really rock that 40s style!

Sign up for this course today! We can’t wait to see you in class.
