Pattern of the Week: Weddell Top

The Weddell Sea is tucked into the West Antarctic Peninsula, part scarred and chiseled ice and part crystal clear water—the clearest water of any sea! This rugged yet beautiful seascape is the inspiration behind the Weddell Top, part of the Sea Blue story in knit.wear Spring/Summer 2018. Covered in an allover zigzag slip-stitch ribbing pattern and featuring subtle stripes that imitate shifting sea ice, this textural knitted top is beautiful, eye-catching, and contemporary.

As a knitter, you’ll love working this top-down, drop-raglan design. Let the repetitive stitch pattern soothe you as you dream of your next oceanic getaway. Hand-dyed Manos del Uruguay Serena, a 60/40 blend of baby alpaca and pima cotton, is perfect for spring and will make all that texture really sing.
