With milkweed disappearing and taking the Monarch butterfly with it, there’s no more joyous sight in October than milkweed fluff drifting its way across a field. The Milkweed Shawl is meant to celebrate fall and the ways in which this season of dying is also one of rebirth.
Finished Size: Finished Size 46″ wide and 15 1/2″ deep.
Yarn: Yarn Manos del Uruguay Fino (70% extrafine merino wool, 30% silk; 490 yd [448 m]/3 1/2 oz [100 g]): #413 rosewater, 1 skein. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.
Yarn Weight: #1 – Super Fine
Needles: Needles Size 5 (3.75 mm): 32″ circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Notions Markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge: Gauge 21 sts and 36 rows = 4″ in Milkweed patt.
