Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen
This isn’t a yarn shop, but it’s absolutely worth a stop and is just a half mile from the convention center. Founded in 1944 with headquarters in Lancaster, this guild and its state-wide chapters host educational workshops in metalsmithing, leatherworking, stained glass, lampworking, ceramics, woodcrafts, fiber arts, and more. During Maker Festivals, they are teaching a variety of glass workshops to make pendants and beads with a variety of techniques.

Lancaster Creative Reuse

Eastland Alpacas Farm Tour & Store
This 30-acre farm, featuring rolling hills and happy alpacas, is a must-see for any fiber lover. Book a farm tour to get a close-up introduction to the farm’s 120 alpacas, and check out the Eastland Store for a variety yarn in natural and dyed colors, clothing, and home accessories made from the fiber of Eastland’s own alpacas, as well as products woven by nationwide fiber cooperatives and Peruvian artisans. Labadie Looms
This hidden gem is a lovely fiber arts studio and local yarn shop, using wool and fiber from area sheep and alpaca farms. Catering to knitters, spinners, crocheters, and of course weavers, Labadie Looms is locally owned and operated by a sole proprietor, Donna Morrison Beaver. She is a ninth generation weaver, highly regarded for her expert proficiency in creating a wide variety of hand dyed and handspun yarns. Her shop is absolutely worth a stop!

Flying Fibers
This adorable yarn shop, owned by a mother and daughter focuses on breed-specific British and American fibers and yarns, including their own exclusive yarn line. The Flying Fibers Flock consists of rare breed North American Wensleydale sheep, endangered Leicester Longwool sheep, and rare breed Shetland sheep. They also farm lavender, which they use to make products, including beautiful sachets to help preserve knitted wool garments.
