Learn Tunisian Crochet!

Have you played with Tunisian crochet and found yourself wanting to learn more? The possibilities are incredible, from simple Tunisian knit stitch or Tunisian purl stitch fabrics to Tunisian colorwork and beautiful stitch patterns.

Sign up for Mary Beth Temple’s class, Terrific Tunisian Crochet, which runs from June 24 through July 22, 2016. The Tunisian simple stitch is fun and easy to pick up, and Mary Beth will walk through how to create this basic stitch as well as two more of the most commonly used stitches. Then the fun really begins. Learn how to increase and decrease—this is very important if you want to crochet garments—play with Tunisian colorwork, including intarsia, discover Tunisian lace, and more.

Mary Beth has created step-outs, videos, and photographs, that will walk you through the process, and if you have any questions, you can just ask. Here is Mary Beth to tell you a little bit more about the class and to show you the baby blanket pattern included with the class.

Terrific Tunisian Crochet

Tunisian crochet is one of my favorite techniques ever! It is a lot more versatile than most people give it credit for, and is easy to learn even if you have never crocheted before in your life. Some people like it because it can mimic the look of knitted fabric while only requiring a hook instead of two pesky needles, others like the way you can create gorgeous fabrics than cannot be made with any other technique.

In this master class you will get a firm grounding in all of the basics of Tunisian crochet, including starting and ending projects, Tunisian Simple Stitch, Knit Stitch and Purl Stitch, increasing and decreasing, entrelac, and several styles of colorwork. You can practice by making swatches, or crochet the adorable sampler baby blanket shown in the video! Over the course of four weeks you can chat with fellow students, ask me questions directly, and learn via photographs, texts and video lessons. It’s going to be a lot of fun so I hope you will join me!
