Learn How to Write Your Own Knitting Patterns
At the beginning of my publishing career, I worked in early-childhood educational publishing. We wrote and edited activity books for teachers and parents of preschoolers. That was a fun job! I learned how to write step-by-step instructions in my time there, and I’ve used those skills in so many ways over the years.
Pattern writing, for instance, is a good example. Patterns are step-by-step instructions, right? They need to be clear, concise, and complete so they’re easy to follow. And as knitters, we know there’s nothing more frustrating than following a poorly-written pattern.
If you’re interested in learning to write your own knitting patterns, we’ve got the class for you!
Taught by knitwear designer Kate Atherley, our course Pattern Writing for Knit Designers, is just the ticket for designers who want to put pen to paper! From outlining your pattern to submitting it for publication, Kate will walk you through each step in the process.
