knit.wear Spring/Summer 2018: Wisteria Stole

Spring’s fickle nature means we all need a couple of good layering pieces to take with us when we’re out and about. I’m in need of another shawl, so I’m planning to get the Wisteria Stole on my needles as soon as possible! This lightweight but warm piece features cables and lace in a geometric pattern that’s pleasingly modern and fresh. Designer Susanna IC says that the vertical lines of the lace remind her of tall stalks of grain plants and the sinuous cables mimic the movement of seed heads in the wind. What a lovely inspiration for spring!

The textural interest on both sides makes this piece reversible, which means you can style it in a variety of ways. You can also easily customize the width by working a different number of pattern repeats. Personally, I love it as designed, but if you need a bigger wrap for your overly air-conditioned office or a smaller one for warm spring days, this stole has you covered.

A part of the Verdant Vines collection in knit.wear Spring/Summer 2018, the Wisteria Stole also easily dresses up or down, so you can wear it for just about any occasion, whether it’s a casual Sunday brunch or a fancy summer wedding.
