knit.wear Spring/Summer 2018: Andaman Top

Need a striking knitted tank for your summer adventures? The Andaman top is just the piece to add some bold flair to your wardrobe. With a cropped, straight front, the flowing back creates a stylish contrast with its dramatic length and curved hem. The three elegant lace panels running up the front and back of this stylish top have an almost Egyptian art deco feel, with curving lines and geometric figures.

Worked back and forth in rows, this tank is worked in separate pieces, making it a excellent choice for knitting on a plane; there’s no need to hold an entire sweater in your lap. Start knitting when you begin your journey, and have a new top to debut on the final day of your trip.

The yarn, Tahki BioMerino, is a smooth organic wool yarn that comes in a wide array of colors. Shown in a classic midnight blue, you could also make this top in soft lavender or bright red, depending on where your travels take you. Pair the Andaman Top with a pair of crisp white capris for a cosmopolitan day in the city, or throw it over linen gaucho pants for a breezy, beachy look.

One of the nine projects offered in the knit.wear Spring/Summer 2018 story, “Sea Blue,” the Andaman Top will have you craving the intense hues of a Mediterranean summer.
