knit.wear Spring/Summer 2018: Adriatic Dolman

I was skeptical of tops like the Adriatic Dolman for years. How could a style that has the opposite of waist shaping be flattering on anyone? Has no one noticed that this is not how people are shaped? When did Rocky the Flying Squirrel replace Twiggy as a style icon? Admittedly, this was before I had tried on anything with a dolman sleeve. They’re amazing! The sleeves drape over the shoulder and bust, emphasizing your assets while being extremely comfortable at the same time. It’s a complimentary style on a surprisingly wide array of body types.

The periwinkle color also looks good on many people. The yarn, Mountain Meadow Wool Dubois, is a tonally dyed fingering-weight yarn. It’s made entirely in the United States, from raising the sheep to spinning the wool to the dyeing. The semi-woolen spinning style creates a unique, crepe-like texture when the yarn is worked in simple stockinette stitch. Not only are they easy to wear, but Dolman sweaters are also quite versatile.

Throw on the Adriatic Dolman with your skinnies and a pair of funky sunglasses for a day at the park. Or wear it with a pencil skirt and Converse sneakers for that urban-chic vibe. Either way, you’ll look and feel fabulous! And as far as that is concerned, knit.wear Spring/Summer 2018 has a bevy of beautiful projects that you will absolutely rock.
