knit.wear Fall/Winter 2018: Pepper & Snow Pullover
Are you a traditionalist, or do your tastes skew more modern? Personally, I embrace both: I love traditional designs, but I also like the look of modern pieces. That’s why I love the Modern Fair Isle story in knit.wear Fall 2018—it puts a modern spin on classic styles! All the projects in the story are stunning, but my personal favorite is the Pepper & Snow Pullover by Cheryl Toy. This lovely pullover combines traditional Fair Isle concepts with a clean, modern motif for a design that’s truly one of a kind.
The Pepper & Snow Pullover features a striking geometric pattern that’s both understated and eye-catching. The charted colorwork section is worked using the stranded method; the pullover itself is worked from the top down with a circular yoke. The hem and back neck, which both feature white and gray stripes, are shaped with short-rows. This sweater also has subtle high-low hem that makes it great for wearing over leggings or skinny jeans.
Brown Sheep Company Nature Spun Sport, a 100% wool yarn, is incredibly warm and soft provides good stitch definition that makes the lovely geometric motif really pop. If you need a new sweater in your life (who doesn’t?), cast on for the ultra-cozy Pepper & Snow Pullover—it’s sure to become your go-to winter piece!
