Tree of Life Aran Vest
In this pattern, work M1P as follows: Lift the running thread between the stitch just worked and the next stitch from front to back, and purl into the back of this thread. See diagram for Make One (M1) Increases. Change to a larger needle size after the Welt portion.

FALL 2014

Baby’s Christening Bonnet
Once you have knitted the “spiral part” (rows 1-20), you will knit for 3″ in St st. Your piece is still flat at this point. Next there’s a decorative edging around the face part of the bonnet. At the bottom of page 85 is the sentence: “Sew the nape (inc’d sts) from CO to p ridge”. This is where your bonnet will become circular at the back.
