Knitscene Summer 2015 is here!

It’s kind of crazy to me to think that we’re already talking about Knitscene Summer 2015. It’s March. (I know you know that.) And yet here it is—ready for you to start knitting for warmer weather!

We have four main stories in this issue, starting with our featured designer, Allyson Dykhuizen. Allyson designed a collection of knitting patterns to wear on beach days, where you might want just a little bit of cover-up during the day or a more substantial piece for the evening. Here’s Allyson talking about her collection when she came in to film her videos (have you seen her adorable knitted baby sweaters video?!).

Lake Superior Cardigan, Lake Ontario Hat, Lake Michigan Tee, Lake Huron Wrap

Allyson’s great patterns are followed by our En Pointe story—inspired by geometric shapes, these 7 knitting patterns designed to move and flow with elegance, grace, and excitement. Here’s three that I especially love, and we’ll talk more about all of the patterns in a future post!

Pink tee: Ouverte Tee by Emily Ringelman; Gray and gold tee: Allongé Tee by Bristol Ivy; Black, white, and light blue sweater: Elevé Pullover by Sarah Hurwitz

Our Twist story has 4 knitting patterns with …a twist! They’re pretty simple twists, but they create a dramatic effect in the knitting. And as an added bonus, this story includes my debut as a knitted garment designer.

Finally we have our High Noon story, full of 7 knitting patterns inspired by Western wear. There are so many great patterns in here, but here’s a small taste!

Serape Shawl by Megi Burcl (kit available soon!), Alamogordo Socks by Lisa Jacobs, Lorena Cardigan by Alison Green

We’ll be talking about this issue a lot more very soon, but you can see the whole preview here, and download your own copy today at

Happy knitting,
