knitscene Summer 2018: ‘Paca Bag
Let’s ‘Paca Bag and head off to the beach or a picnic; this roomy bag has enough space to hold your knitting, food, beverages, and even a blanket. Inspired by African handwoven baskets, the slip-stitch motifs mimis woven fabric; alternate the two colors per row and watch the motifs appear like magic. The alpacas running along the center are stranded in the round, so fussy finishing. Take a trip to your local LYS and pick up metal eyelets for the handles—they give the bag a polished look.
After felting this bag is sturdy and hard working, so take it for a rough and tumble weekend camping, beaching, or use it was a whimsical poolside tote. Once you’ve got all of your project plans nailed with the help of knitscene Summer 2018, where will you take the ‘Paca Bag?
