Knits Gifts 2018: Warren Cap
Sometimes it’s fun to knit something blatantly decadent, whether it’s for yourself or someone else. I’m a fairly practical knitter when I knit for myself—in colors I like to wear a lot, yarns that are fairly easy to wash, and overall low-maintenance items. But sometimes a luxurious knitting project is so appealing; you just have to make it. That’s what I love about the Warren Cap from Interweave Knits Gifts 2018. This issue’s cover project is made from fingering-weight 100% cashmere, which makes it just an absolute delight to knit up.
The Warren Cap combines a luxurious cashmere yarn with a soft lace-and-cable motif that is sure to please both the maker and the lucky recipient. During the bitter cold, the cocoon-like warmth of this hat will comfort and delight. The beanie shape of this hat, the simple cables, and the pom-pom give it an adaptable look for all types of styles. This yarn line has over 50 colors, so there is a color for anyone for whom you might plan to knit it, including yourself. Use a neutral tone for a classic look, or in a fun bright, jewel tone, or pastel for a modern, updated look. What color would you choose?
