Knits Gifts 2018: Changing Diamonds Hat and Mittens Set

Aren’t matching knitted accessory sets the best? I have a hat/fingerless mitts combo my sister knit for me years ago, and I wear it constantly in the fall and winter. In fact, I’ve worn it so much that it’s starting to look a little sad, so I’ve been searching for a replacement set to knit and wear this year. I’ve finally settled on the perfect thing: the Changing Diamonds Hat and Mittens Set from Interweave Knits Gifts 2018!

This fun, fresh set is just the thing I need to replace my much-loved hat and mitts. The geometric colorwork motifs around the hat and at the base of the hand on the mittens are so modern and cool–I absolutely love this updated take on traditional design elements! And the turquoise-and-white pairing is trendy but classic, so I’ll be able to wear this set for a long time. (And my favorite color is turquoise, AND the hat/mitts set I’m replacing is turquoise, so this lovely yarn from Brown Sheep is just perfect.)

Best of all—to me, anyway—is that this colorwork pattern is easy enough for beginners. We say in the magazine that this set is a great first colorwork project, and I’m excited to cast on and put my skills to the test. But experienced knitters, don’t worry! The knitting is interesting and fun, so you’ll enjoy making this set as much as I will. (And you’ll definitely get the set finished in time to gift it this season!)

If you need some fun, modern knitted accessories this season, try the Changing Diamonds Hat and Mittens Set! It will keep you warm and stylish all winter long.
