This week’s Knit Night is brought to us by Manni McNeil of the Collegeville, Pennsylvania Wegmans Fiberholics. The group meets every Tuesday from 5 p.m. until “whenever we remember we have husbands and life is waiting for us at home,” Manni says. It sure sounds like they can sure get lost in their knitting and fun conversations!

The folks that make up the Fiberholics are a diverse group of women who have moved from all parts of the country to Collegeville. Some have moved for jobs, some for family, and some have been in the area for years. The women range in age and skillsets, but they connect via humor and yarn. On a busy night about ten to twelve ladies might attend ; on a slower night, there might be more like four to six.

The group generally meets on the couches at Wegmans, a grocery store with lounging space, but sometimes they go on field trips to yarn shops and festivals. They occasionally meet at one of the members’ homes to imbibe and drop stitches together! Manni describes the group as “loud, profane, and hilarious,” and says that their husbands worry Wegmans will kick them out. (I think many of us can relate to this.)

Check out this group’s Ravelry page. If you live in the area or will be passing through and are looking for a group to knit with, look them up! They have over eighty members in their Ravelry group and are always eager to welcome guests and new members.

What a fun group!

What Knit Night are you heading to this week?
